Asher and Charlie have been friends since the age of 11. They met when Asher stopped a mean little boy from throwing rocks at Charlie's head in elementary school. Since that time, these two people have been attached to each other. In fact the summers when growing up were the longest that they had ever been apart.
Charlie on the other hand was quiet, withdrawn, and reserved as a little girl. but there was a good reason for that. She lost her mother to cancer and then her father moved them closer to her grandparents. While that was a good thing to be closer to them, it meant she had to leave her friends as well as the house she grew up in and start all over. The first day at her new school she meets Asher, and they each help fill a whole in the others lives at that time.
Asher is sad as his best friend moved away. As he walks home each day he has to pass his best friends house. What he doesn't know that first day is that is where she lives, the little girl who is going to change his life.Charlie becomes his newest best friend, and maybe something more.
What happens when the one person who said they will be there beside you forever walks away? What happens when tragedy hits and that one person isn't there to be by your side? What happens when you think the person you love betrays you? Do you stay and fight or do you run away? Do you give that person a chance to apologize and explain? Do you forgive them?

Anie Michaels started writing her first book in June of 2013 and since has managed to make it a full-time career. She spends her days in coffee shops imagining the lives of her fictional characters and then goes home to be a mother and wife; her other full-time career. Anie lives in Portland, Oregon, where some of her books are set, and wouldn't live anywhere else. When she isn't writing or taking care of her small children she spends her free time with her close friends and family. She loves beer and wine (a requirement went living in Oregon), and wishes she had more time for television because sometimes it's nice to look at attractive men instead of imagining them all the time.
